Went to Oualidia last weekend with some friends. It’s about 2 and a half hours drive east of Marrakech on the Atlantic Coast south of Casablanca. You can imagine 20 years ago before buildings started to go up it must have been one of the most idyllic places on Earth.
It is still amazingly beautiful and very peaceful away from the main village.
We stayed at the Hippocampe (wow that could be a superb hotel with a bit of investment – if only it was to come up for sale). Had Lobster, Calamari, Turbot, John Dory, Whitebait, Spider Crab, Tiger Prawns and sooo much more). Lobster coming out of our ears.
A wonderful place.

I converted some of the shots I took yesterday to colour and unusually for me, I preferred them. They seemed to have more punch and brought the wet streets of Marrakech to life a little bit.
Perhaps you can help. I am looking to do a street project on ‘children on the streets’ here in Morocco. I need someone who can interpret for me. I will be going out at all times of day to talk to the kids, find out where they sleep, eat, play. Basically I want to document their lives in order that the problem can be made more public and something, slowly, inshallah, can be done about it.
Let me know if you think you know anyone. 066 217 2777.

So, on one of the few days I have the chance to get out and take pictures it absolutely belts it down. Typical.
I am in the car with my two children, stopped for a few minutes and whilst my wife dashes in to a shop. I reach for the camera and shoot through the window.
Passing bikes, scooters, people - the world on it’s rushed way to somewhere, everywhere on this wet, grotty day.
I take a few shots of the children in the back of the car screaming of boredom and eager to distract me from my purpose. One just crying and trying to hurt my head. Succeeding.
But I manage to snatch a few of this wet, rainy grainy day in Morocco.
